Adopting from HAAL

The moment you step foot into HAAL, you will realize that this isn't your typical facility with depressed animals who are lacking love and attention. We treat each and every cat like family - learning their personality, continuously showing them affection, and taking care of their every need. We love seeing our cats get adopted into loving forever homes!
In order to adopt, you need to complete an application and approval process. We want the very best for each cat which means we do not perform same day adoptions. We strongly recommend spending time with our cats so you can get a feel for their personalities. We always say, "The cat chooses you", because a cat will know when they have found their forever family. Some people have a desire for a cat with specific physical traits or gender, but adopting with that mindset usually sets you up for disappointment. You may think you want an orange, male kitten, but when you come in you may fall in love with a gray, long-haired female adult. You never know who will make your heart melt! |

When looking to adopt, something to keep in mind is that adult cats already have their personality set. They've had life experiences which have set them in their ways - so when you meet an adult cat you pretty much know just what you can expect. When you're adopting a kitten they are still learning, exploring, and figuring out who they are in this world - so their personality today could be quite different in the years to come.

1.) Come by and meet our cats during our public hours.
2.) Prior to or after your visit, complete an application which can be found below. Email it to our applications inbox at [email protected].
3.) If your application is deemed strong (and only if your application is deemed strong), we will contact you about the next steps.
Your adoption application must be approved by our Board of Directors.
